VPS Hosting Solutions: Virtual Dedicated Server Resource Usage

VPS Troubleshooting: Other server using too much resources to affact my server? How often do you reboot your VPS? Server is down very often. We do not have scheduled reboot of our VPS servers, because the normal operation of these servers does nor require rebooting on a regular basis.

Server Troubleshooting Ticket Information: I doubt that some server beside mine is using too much resources to influence my server. Thus, my server is always down. It is in trouble several times a day. It is down over again and again. I have no way but reboot it once it is down. Just within the past one hour, it was down twice, so that I had no way but reboot it. Actually my site is using only little width. It should not be in this way of server trouble.

Now, I really want to know, could you please check the servers beside my server, will they use too much resources or memory to let my server down? I have used my server for one year, but recently it is amnormal, always down. It tortures me so much that I couldn’t sleep well.

I would appreciate it very much if you would check what has go wrong to infuence my server down. Looking forward to hearing a good news from you.

Godaddy Server Support Department Gives a Reply:

Thank you for contacting Server Support. Unfortunately we were unable to duplicate the issue you were experiencing with your server being unavailable. It is currently responding without any issue. We did check the parent server your Virtual Dedicated server is hosted on, and did not find any high resource usage on the server that would cause your server to be unavailable.

We do not have scheduled reboot of our VPS servers, because the normal operation of these servers does nor require rebooting on a regular basis. The only reboots which we perform are either upon customers’ request or upon performing server side changes/upgrades. In the latter case we inform our customers in advance so that they can in turn inform the visitors in case the maintenance involves any temporary disruptions of the provided service. This notification process is the same for other kind of maintenance? eg network or power supply maintentance?

We did notice however, that the system logs for your server have been corrupted. This could have occurred with a system change or due to errors in the OS. You may wish to research this further, as this could be the cause for the issue you are experiencing. If the issue persists, please provide us with a time frame that the server is generally unavailable, or with information regarding any changes you have made to the server recently.
