Most snow panthers live on high mountains over 3000m above sea level in couples, build their dens in caves under big stones. They are mainly distributed in pastoral areas with blue sheep as the main food.
Snow Panther also hunt and eat musk deer, roe deer, rabbit and etc. Snow panther is one of the China Grade A protected animals as well as a kind of precious fancy type animal for its beautiful fur.
