People Are Prisoners of Their Ideology

A series of technological revolution have resulted in all sorts of high and new technology that might make the First Emperor of Qin Dynasty and Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty admire or envy beyond description. However,the biggest prison in the world is the prison of the brain. People are prisoners of their ideology. If there is only technological revolution without ideological revolution,people’s sufferings might increase automatically.
Why did Hai Rui (a famous righteous official in the Qing Dynasty) do so ruthless and foolish thing to his own child although he was regarded as both wise and virtuous? Why was the self-hurting “three-inch golden lotus” (woman’s bound foot) regarded as a symbol of civilization, education and beauty? Why did even the all-mighty kings or queens have to pay money to the gatekeeper?
