Music therapy to treat tinnitus: German researchers have come up with a form of music therapy that may help quiet the noise of tinnitus, a constant ringing or other sound in the ear.
Tinnitus can occur after a noise-related hearing loss and is a particularly frustrating and difficult problem to treat.
The German approach uses music, customized to filter out the frequency of ringing experienced by the tinnitus sufferer, as a way to retrain neurons and reduce symptoms.
