Barenboim and Beethoven: Culture Minute. Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Staatskapelle play all five Beethoven concertos plus music by Schoenberg at the Royal Festival Hall London on 29, 31, January and 1 and 2 Feb.
Ivan Hewett on pianist Daniel Barenboim who plans to play all five of Beethoven’s piano concertos, with the orchestra he’s been cherishing for the past 18 years – the Berlin Staatskapelle.
Daniel Barenboim and the Berlin Staatskapelle play all five Beethoven concertos plus music by Schoenberg at the Royal Festival Hall London on 29, 31, January and 1 and 2 Feb, as part of the Shell Classic International Series, and 30 January at Symphony Hall Birmingham (which is now sold out).
All concerts are sold out, but all the Festival Hall concerts can be seen in a live relay in the Festival Hall Clore Ballroom. The Festival Hall Concerts will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 3,4,8,9, February and the 29th January concert can be also be seen on BBC 4.
