Xiangshan (Fragrance Hill) Park
Xiangshan (Fragrance Hill) Park is located on the eastern side of the Western Hills about 40 kilometers to the northwest of Beijing. On top of the hill, 557 meters above sea level are two huge rocks, which are shaped like incense-burning tripods. Hence comes the name of the hill.
Inside the park there are many scenic spots, the famous ones being Jianxinzhai (Pavilion of Revealing One’s Mind), Shuangqing (Twin Clear Waters) Villa, Liulita (Glazed Tile Pagoda) and the nearby Biyunsi (Temple of Azure Clouds) and Wofosi (Temple of the Recumbent Buddha).
Late in autumn, the tree leaves turn red all over the mountain. Therefore, every year, Beijing people come here to enjoy the red leaves.
