Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and the Paparazzi Story. Paparazzi have become so obsessed with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their blooming brood that they will even risk arrest and jail in order to get their photographs of the family.
It then comes as a bold yet graceful move that the Hollywood couple decides to share bits of its life with the public through photographs supposedly sold to the highest bidder which show them in their most natural roles: as parents to their six (and probably counting) children.
Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline on July 12 by caesarean section, at the Lenval Hospital in southern France. Daddy Brad Pitt was right there and the other four children were also nearby.
After mother and newborns were deemed healthy and ready to go home by the medical staff, the Jolie-Pitts retreated to the Château Miraval in Provence, France, to settle into their new arrangement.
In late July, reports surfaced that two paparazzi had sneaked on the couple’s French estate, were seen and intercepted by bodyguards and then became violent. The two adult men were wearing camouflage gear and went “beserk” when the security guards attempted to escort them off the premises, the family’s security chief told Reuters at the time.
They even hit and kicked around and bit one of the guards…
On Aug. 4, People magazine proudly released a special issue that featured a 19-page family photo album of the Jolie-Pitts, complete with beautiful revelations from the parents about their life with the twins. The magazine reportedly paid $14 million for exclusivity and the money went to Jolie and Pitt’s charities.
Fast forward another two months and the Hollywood stars are on the cover of W magazine’s November issue, in yet another defiance to the paparazzi. The black-and-white photo on the cover shows a smiling Jolie breastfeeding one of the babies – the actual mommy-baby image is only partial.
Ironically, this, as well as the photos inside, was taken by Pitt himself.
Nice option, to take your own photographs, negotiate with a publication, feed the public’s need for “private” photos of your superstar life, outsmart those nosy, intrusive paparazzi and, one can only suppose, once more have money for the charities you support.
On top of it all, Jolie talks beautifully about having changed her mind on giving birth to children only after she met Pitt. Adoption was the only option she had considered towards having babies but the 44-year-old actor convinced her otherwise.
Says Jolie, “I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to (getting pregnant). I suddenly wanted to. It’s one of those things you can’t explain.”
Jolie and Pitt have adopted son Maddox from Cambodia, daughter Zahara from Ethiopia, welcomed biological daughter Shiloh two years ago and then adopted son Pax, from Vietnam. Pax’s adoption became official in February of this year, the same month that Jolie debuted her baby bump at the Independent Spirit Awards.
